Meet the Patriot Picket

I first met Jeff when he offered to come with his signs to help us with our DCProject Rally several years ago.

Since then – they have brought out their generator when our Rally was put in a zone with no power.  They have introduced me to another sweet guy who has loaned us his professional PA system for all future rallys.

and then this day – I saw him at the House Judiciary Hearing meeting where he decided to do a Patriot Protest and get kicked out of the event.

He was polite, the police were polite and the end result was that several of the elected represenatives looked up from their phone and paid attention to a man holding a constitution – at least for a minute.

You meet the nicest people in the Gun Industry – Meet Charlie Cook

Sometimes you meet someone and know that you and they are going to be good friends.   That is how it was when I met (OK – re-met) Charlie Cook

Rob and I were doing a line of shows titled What are the Gun Laws in your state.   and I was just in the mode of locating an instructor in that state, interviewing them and moving on.    That is how I Originally Met Charlie Cook.

And then I re-met him at the SAF.org’s Gun Right Policy Conference where I was standing,  knowing almost no one in the industry, and he comes up to introduce himself to Chery Todd ( Note – not to me)  who I just happened to be talking to.    When I introduced myself also – he said “Oh yeah – I was on your show”.   AND I really could not remember…. even after that introduction.

Charlie – since then, has burnt himself into my mental databanks.  So if you do not know Charlie Cook – here are a few video links.  Tune in and get to know him.

That day I got to hang with Dick Heller

If you are in the gun industry – you know Heller.   or Heller -v- DC.

But what you may not know is a slighty odd, very friendly and overly generous man named Dick Heller – Just call him Dude.

I met Dick several years ago when he came to a DCProject Rally that I was coordinating and quietly asked – may I say a few word.   May you?   Like YES!   I would be proud to have you pop into the line up.

Here are a few pictures of him that I have gathered over the years.

Dick speaking at another DC Project rally in the rain.   And yes – he is wearing a suit AND a garbage bag.

Dicks famous pistol.  Not only got to see it, but got to hold it.   High Standard long barrel .22

All in all – Dick Heller, One Nice Dude.

The Assault Weapons Ban hearing at the House Judiciary Hearings

This past week I had an opportunity to attend a House Judiciary Hearing in Rayburn House, Washington DC.   Sitting between the famous Dick Heller (of Heller -v- DC fame) and Jeff Hulbert ( the founder of Patriot Picket) as we watched Dianna Muller testify as to why ‘assault’ weapons bans are bad.

Here are some of the photos of the day.  Check out the attendance in the House seats – this is the Democrat side, but the Republicans were not much better.

It was the culmination of 4 years of work by the gals of the DC Project that Dianna was asked to testify.   Gals from across the country flew to DC on a pretty short notice to stand and support her as she took this stand, for her and for us.   All sporting Teal T-Shirts that said Educate over Legislate

As we sat and watched and listened.  The one thing that I began to understand is that attendance by our elected represenatives ( note I did not say leaders) was driven by C-SPAN camera time.  The congressman/women would come into the room in time to get their 5 minutes of fame,  and then off they went.

On the other hand – there was submitted written testimony that one could surmise that the official would be reading in the future.  AND this was the day that the Impeachment Proceedings was announced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, thus there was much buzz on the hill.

Dianna Muller knocked it out of the park.   #IWillNotComply will ring across the nation as will 2A is #DoingSomething.  I am proud to follow her, proud to be one of the #DCProject gals (Ohio Represenative) and proud to be in the gallery while she took a stand for us all.

Defender of Liberty award winner – Amanda Suffecool

PHOENIX, Arizona — On September 21, 2019, Amanda Suffecool was honored with the 2019 Defender of Liberty award from the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF). Suffecool was one of several award recipients recognized during the 34th Annual Gun Rights Policy Conference (GRPC).  Locally Suffecool is the Chairman of the Portage County Republican Party, the Director of the not for profit group REALIZE firearms awareness coalition and the host of the nationally syndicated radio show Eye On The Target Radio  (www.EyeOnTheTargetRadio.com)

Alan Gottlieb, President of the Second Amendment Foundation, began the award segment by saying that it is his favorite part of GRPC. He recognized the recipients by saying that they “have done an awful lot of work… defending Second Amendment rights.” Gottlieb continued, “I want to thank all of you for your excellent efforts this year… in defense of our liberty. Thank you very much.”

Suffecool later addressed the crowd, which included more than 1,000 attendees in person and more than 3,000 viewers participating in the live stream online. She discussed how gun rights are women’s rights, and focused on supporting women as they expand their reach within in the primarily male dominated field of firearms.   Quoting the anonymous Strong Women, May we know them, May we be them, May we raise them and adding the word up.   May we raise them up.   Her speech centered around creating a support structure that is so critical in grass roots organizations.

Detroit Women Given Chance to Empower and Arm Themselves

It began as a response to a series of murdered women eight years ago in the City of Detroit, and a desire to see women protect themselves and no longer be the victims of criminals.

Rick Ector has been conducting free classes through his trainingorganization Legally Armed In Detroit (LAID) for women to learn to protect themselves and get familiar with a firearm. Ector recently held a training May 19 in Taylor, Mich., at Top Gun Shooting Sports.

Other things the gun girl does when she’s not shooting or talking guns

Have you ever….

Cleaned your refridgerator at 5:30 am?
Found 4 bottles of pickles – I don’t eat pickles, I think I should eat pickles, periodically I buy pickles and add them to the pickle collection – apparently

Three bottles of wine – I buy them for the nonexistant company that in my mind, comes to visit, and I classily offer them wine… in the wine glasses that are dusty and WAY up in the tall cupboard ( someone made me measure it. the shelf is 88″ from the floor to the bottom of the shelf. 7’4″ seriously). So, visualize how classy this is – they say ‘yes, they would have some wine’, bought by someone who knows nothing, nothing, NOTHING about wine. Then that said someone (that would be me) GETS UP ON A CHAIR, muttering, getting down dusty glasses, washes them, hasily drys them, puts the chair back, unscrews the wine bottle, and then walks classily back to the living room balancing two wine glasses like a toddling two year old carrying their goldfish bowl.

Four bottles of Mayo – three of which are open. – I got nothing here.

And three bottles of Aunt Jamima syrup and one bottle of ‘the good stuff’ that is apparently to GOOD to open and I am saving it for some monumental pancake fiesta.
