Concealed Carry Fashion Show – Kent Ohio
Gun owner turned 2A activist Amanda Suffecool knows the best hope for long term firearms protection in the United States is getting women in the action through producing Concealed Carry Fashion Shows including one in Kent, Ohio on June 21st to attract this growing demographic.
When former President Obama sealed the Democratic nomination for president in 2008 partially on an anti gun platform, Amanda Suffecool started saying, “Someone should do something to protect our rights as gun owners”. That someone became Suffecool who created REALILZE Firearms Awareness Coalition including Eye on the Target Radio. www.EyeOnTheTargetRadio.com
The mission of REALIZE is to educate citizens as to the historical intent of the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, support for responsible gun ownership, and to emphasize firearm education for women who facilitate the transmittal of constitutional awareness and gun ownership to succeeding generations.
An engineer professionally, Suffecool is used to being a woman in a man’s field where she knew women were too scarce in the gun community. Though men dominated this arena, she had the distinct privilege of being raised by a mother who was an NRA instructor.
As Suffecool built REALIZE F.A.C. with her brother, Rob Campbell, women entrepreneurs across the country were starting companies in response to the gun industry’s Shrink It & Pink It solution to the growing female demand for products. Simultaneously, concealed carry laws expanded, and record numbers of individuals, male and female, could lawfully carry everyday.
New Concealed Carry permit holders don’t know exactly how they want to carry, or what is comfortable for them. The options to carry on body include inside the waistband, outside waistband, as well as: undershirts, wraps, girdles, spanks, shirts, pants, shorts, or jackets, shoulder holsters and ankle holsters. Additionally, off body concealment options include purses and bags.
Amanda identified a growing problem. Many great products flooded the market but had limited access by average shooters. Most gun shops are unable to stock an extensive concealed carry selection for lack of space and fear of being stuck with merchandise they can’t sell.
“As an engineer I am wired to fix stuff; this I can fix by bringing the products right to the consumer in a fun, hands-on, try before-you-buy, Fashion Show format,” states Suffecool who has produced several concealed carry fashion shows across the nation.
“We did one in Chicago and HBO did a piece on it, and there was the 2017 VICE hour long segment on women and concealed carry which included our concealed carry fashion show in Independence, Ohio,” continued Suffecool.
On June 21st Suffecool and REALIZE Firearms Awareness Coalition will be producing their third show of 2019 in Kent, Ohio. Collaborating with the Portage County Republican Women’s Club PAC they will be presenting their Under-Cover, concealed carry fashion show, at Underwood Hall of the Kent American Legion.
Using the appeal of familiar names allows attendees to see someone like themselves successfully concealing a firearm. “Everyday people carrying concealed in a variety of ways is the beauty of the concealed carry fashion show,” states Elayne Cross co-author of the book How to Produce a Concealed Carry Fashion Show, with Suffecool.
Local talk radio celebrity, John “Couch Burner” Denning, is taking his pro-gun talk to the runway along with others who want to walk their talk including Portage County Recorder Lori Calcei, Cecilia Robard, Cuyahoga Falls City Council candidate, Rob Campbell co-host of Eye on the Target Radio, and more.
The American conceal carry holder: tall or short, thin or heavy, male or female, old or young, any shape, size, or build, can see the latest options at Under-Cover Concealed Carry Fashion Show in Kent. Tickets are $40 each which includes refreshments. For information visit www.portagegop.com/fashion.
REALIZE your carry options- Concealed Carry Fashion Shows
AND we are offering another fashion show. This started in 2014 with an innocent question: How do you carry and how can I keep my gun from telegraphing itself to everyone in the vacinity.
Since then we have held, helped hold, produced and consulted in holding these shows across the country. We even wrote a book & produced a video – Your Guide to Produce a Concealed Carry Fashion Show to help host one as a fund raiser.
2021 we will be in Houston Tx at NRAAM on September 4 – Get tickets here
2021 we will be in Greely Pa at the Rod of Iron Freedom Festival on October 9 & 10 – show is in included in festival entry.
The GRPC fashion show is an informal, weave through the audience style show. Models will showcase an item, and allow audience interraction with them and the product.
The audience is comprised of industry influencers. Actually, even the models themselves, can be tagged as that. There are Writers, Authors, Bloggers, Radio and TV hosts in addition to the long list of firearms who’s who in the industry.
The models have fun, the audience has fun and overall we make showcasing new concealed carry items a fun and entertaining evening.
2018 vendors that are included in the event are evolving as the date grows nearer, but include these companies and items.

CONCEALED CARRY FASHION SHOW
February is Conceal Carry Month, at least in Independence, Ohio, where firearms enthusiasts will gather for an exceptional day. On February 19, the day begins at 1:00 when doors open for seating for the REALIZE fac Concealed Carry Fashion Show. Following the show guests will be able to visit with vendors and distributors from 4:00 to 5:00. At 5:00 the doors will open again (separate ticket required) for the Greater Cleveland Friends of NRA banquet. This Concealed Carry Fashion Show in a suburb of Cleveland has captured the attention of a national television station unlike any of the other gun-carrying how-to fashion shows popping up across the country. A&E’s Channel Viceland has a documentary series titled States of Undress which travels the world to places like Russia, China, and the Congo to cover female empowerment through the lens of fashion. States of Undress has been working with REALIZE F.A.C. founder, Amanda Suffecool ,to better understand women’s involvement and the empowerment of the distinctly American 2nd Amendment culture. The film crew spent time in the Radio Studio with Amanda and her brother, Rob Campbell, as they hosted their weekly Eye On The Target Radio live call-in gun talk show, that airs from 7-10 pm on Sunday evening on WNIR 100.1 FM Akron/Kent and the same time on Monday on KRMA internet radio. In addition to all that, Charlie Cook, of the #GunGram fame is coming to Ohio to Co-emcee the show with Amanda. Charlie, who can be found on Youtube with a gun and a trumpet is also the host of Riding Shotgun with Charlie. He hopes to be filming a few segments in the Ohio and Michigan area when he is in Cleveland.
- This opportunity to promote and share a pro-gun educational event with firearms neutral people will conclude at the Conceal Carry Fashion Show. The targeted audience of Viceland States of Undress is “global fashion and issues the industry often ignores, showing us what the world wears, and why” REALIZE Firearms Awareness Coalition has worked to expose others to the 2nd Amendment lifestyle through pro-gun sports, safety, and community necessary to support the pro-gun, pro-concealed-carry lifestyle.
- Learning about gun safety, shooting, and listening to a radio show about guns isn’t the whole story so the crew headed north to attend an all-female meeting of North East Ohio A Girl and A Gun and go to a firearms store to walk through the firearms purchase process.
- Host Hailey Gates met up with N.E. Ohio locals Erica Spencer (28) and Gina Spaller (44) to talk concealed carry. Hailey and crew received a lesson in firearms safety from NRA instructor Spaller and watched Erica shoot a stage of USPSA pistol in Deerfield, Ohio. Gina shared her designs for a hip hugging concealed carry / motorcycle bag. Hailey and crew didn’t just watch but took their first shots downrange erupting in squeals and laughter.
- The show is expected to include more than 50 unique concealment items with the modeling help of Bob Golic- former Cleveland Browns player, Michelle Cerino – Princess Gunslinger and editor of Women’s Outdoor News and Charlie Cook of #GunGram fame- the guy with a Glock and a Trumpet. Other models include men and women representing a variety of real world body types.
- REALIZE Firearms Awareness Coalition is pulling back the curtain on concealed carry to expose some of the quality products available in pro-gun Fashion while celebrating the unique needs of both men and women who carry concealed.
