This past week I had an opportunity to attend a House Judiciary Hearing in Rayburn House, Washington DC. Sitting between the famous Dick Heller (of Heller -v- DC fame) and Jeff Hulbert ( the founder of Patriot Picket) as we watched Dianna Muller testify as to why ‘assault’ weapons bans are bad.
Here are some of the photos of the day. Check out the attendance in the House seats – this is the Democrat side, but the Republicans were not much better.
It was the culmination of 4 years of work by the gals of the DC Project that Dianna was asked to testify. Gals from across the country flew to DC on a pretty short notice to stand and support her as she took this stand, for her and for us. All sporting Teal T-Shirts that said Educate over Legislate
As we sat and watched and listened. The one thing that I began to understand is that attendance by our elected represenatives ( note I did not say leaders) was driven by C-SPAN camera time. The congressman/women would come into the room in time to get their 5 minutes of fame, and then off they went.
On the other hand – there was submitted written testimony that one could surmise that the official would be reading in the future. AND this was the day that the Impeachment Proceedings was announced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, thus there was much buzz on the hill.
Dianna Muller knocked it out of the park. #IWillNotComply will ring across the nation as will 2A is #DoingSomething. I am proud to follow her, proud to be one of the #DCProject gals (Ohio Represenative) and proud to be in the gallery while she took a stand for us all.
